Necron Miniatures (2020)

back

Necrons are another happy addition to the “My Brother Painted These Models One Color And I Stole Them And Added More Paint” family <3

Not too much to say here, my goal with most of these was to get them to the table, and at the end of the day I feel like these necron models aren’t detailed enough to really flex my painting abilities. Some of these are good, some are just me going through the motions.

necrons8 8. Oh yeah. Each limb of this model is chopped up piecemeal to get this pose, and I had been getting practice on Power Sword gradients from a Deathwatch commission I had done for Aaron. The shield is made from the top of a Tau drone, so the idea here is essentially that this Necron murdered a T’au soldier and used their drone as a tool/trophy.

necrons9 9. Previous model and the rest are Flayed Ones. Lore-wise, I’m pretty sure they’re Necrons who believe they’re still mortal and cloak themselves in flesh in their delusion; but finance-wise, the official sculpts cost like 60$ for 5 models so I took regular Necron Warriors, glued swords on their hands and put some greenstuff on them which I painted tan. Fun fact, the blades on this models arms are actually LEGO cutlasses!

necrons12 12. In keeping with the general lore (I think, I actually know almost nothing about Warhammer lore!), this Necron thinks they’re a Harlequin, not just a regular human - hence the mask, the checkerboard bloodstains, and Harlequin sword-hands.
