The gangThis army is fully 3D printed. All the sculpts are from redmakers, I wanted a wintery themed Imperial Guard faction to compliment the snowy Space Wolves. I was painting these at home, during my junior year college internship. Every night after work I would video call Katrina from my parents dining room table and paint miniatures.
The gang

2. Imperial Guard are sort of a horde faction, so I painted two squads of 10 models, shown side by side since they’re the same (or nearly) sculpt. I can’t recall if I intended them being different shades of blue, or if I unintentionally had a different paint recipe loaded into my airbrush each batch.

7. Its sad to say, but I think these were my laziest bath of models. I really just hit them with the airbrush and quickly highlighted metallic bits, then called it a day. Sort of justified since I had so many to paint, but I don’t feel the same pride that I do with other factions.

*12. Heavy Weapons Teams… love these guys. While taking pictures of models, I realized I have another squad of these, operating Heavy Bolters (or Lascannons?) instead of Mortars. Unfortunately, they were printed but never painted. *

*17. Leman Russ tank. This is one of my favorite models. It’s so gorgeous. It was primed black and directionally airbrused from the top to get that beautiful gradient, then I it it with a whole bunch of weathering. *
18. Most of the grime and rust on these panels is just an old brush stippling brown paint, but dang. I’m proud of this one.
19. In a world where I remained a Warhammer guy, I’m positive Imperial Guard would be my main faction and I’d still be 3D printing tanks and heavy weapon squads to this day.
